Toronto and South-West Ontario Delegation Celebrates Patronal Feast

Members and friends of the Order of Malta gathered in St. John’s Chapel at St. Michael’s Cathedral-Basilica in Toronto to celebrate the Solemnity of the Nativity of our Patron St. John the Baptist. Holy Mass was celebrated by His Eminence Cardinal Frank Leo, Metropolitan Archbishop of Toronto, Bailiff Grand Cross of Honour and Devotion, assisted by His Excellency The Most Reverend John Anthony Boissonneau, Auxiliary Bishop of Toronto, Conventual Chaplain ad honorem. Seventeen knights and dames were present for the Mass.

A dinner was held after Mass at the National Club. Over fifty members and friends of the Order were present. After dinner Linda De Ciantis Elia was presented with the Silver Medal of the Order pro merito melitensi in recognition of over fifteen years organising the weekly preparation of soup and sandwiches for Toronto Hunger Patrol.
